04 NGC 1502 and Kemble's cascade
strongNGC 1502, Cr 45, Jolly Roger cluster, Golden Harp Cluster /strongbr/I always wanted to image this area of the sky. How intriguing to see a cascade of tumbling stars leading to a nice open cluster.br/NGC 1502 is an open cluster in the constellation Camelopardalis at a distance of 2700 ly from Earth. To be honest, I imaged this area of the sky for the cascade more so than the cluster. NGC 1502 was merely an added bonus to the end of a beautiful, colourful cascade of stars tumbling through my image. It is one of my favourite views visually. Always fun to trace the stars that lead to the clusterhellip;enjoying the colourful display along the way. The cascade has more than 20 colourful stars of 5th to 10th magnitude.br/strongAcquisition details ndash; /strongbr/Imaged March 12th, 2021br/Imaged from my backyard in Sarnia, Ontario using my WO GT 81 rid and Lpro filterbr/47X30sec lights + 25 each of darks, flats and dark flats
