10 NGC 2237 the Rosette Nebula

strongNGC 2237, C 49, NGC 2238, LBN 948, The Rosette Nebula /strongbr/The Rosette Nebula is a beautiful HII region, part of a larger molecular cloud complex in the constellation Monoceros at a distance of 5200ly from Earth. Interesting target having beautiful colours, dark lanes and a lovely open cluster. It is these stars and the radiation they emit that causes the excitement of the atoms in the nebula and produce the lovely colour we can capture in hotos.br/Remarkable resemblance to a rose shape. I was totally amazed at my first images of this target. I have done at least four or five do overs of this target to get varying results from true colour, to all yellow, all blue, false Hubble palette. It really has been a fun target to process and I have learned a great deal from several processing sessions. This image has graced more than just one of my homemade cards.br/strongAcquisition details ndash; /strongbr/Imaged September 21, 2020br/Imaged from my backyard in Sarnia, Ontario with my ES 80mm CF rig and Lenhnace filterbr/25X180 sec lights + 25 each of darks, flats and dark flats
