Messier 71 meets Comet Garradd. 2011 August 23 offered the unique opportunity to image the Messier 71 globular cluster just as Comet Garradd paid it a visit. To capture the image at Sky Trails Observatory in Summerland, a Borg 101E apo operating in “regular” f/6.3 mode fed a modified Canon XSI DSLR operating at ISO 1600. The subs were combined with dark images in ImagesPlus.
