Messier 13. It is a challenge to try to capture the myriad stars that make up a globular cluster in an image, as well as their colour range and depth. At Sky Trails Observatory in Summerland on 2011 June 5, an Orion 8″ Ritchey-Chrétien astrograph was used to image this rich globular, combining 6 5-minute subs with dark frames in ImagesPlus. A modified Canon XSi DSLR was used at ISO 800.
