07 Double Cluster

07 Double Cluster

The Double Cluster in Perseus. For a long time, I looked forward to trying to capture some of the mystique of these two neighbouring open clusters, which are so familiar to the naked eye as a fuzzy patch between Perseus and Cassiopeia. On 2016 September 16, an opportunity presented itself and a Borg E101 apo in f/4.2 astrograph mode was used with a modified Canon XSi DSLR operating at ISO 1600 at Sky Trails Observatory in Summerland, B.C. A total of 10 5-minute guided exposures were combined with dark frames in ImagesPlus.
