Messier 31 was one of my early astroimaging efforts and I felt fortunate to have been able to capture a reasonable image of our nearest galactic neighbour showing the Andromeda Nebula’s arms, dark lanes, and its small companion galaxies. The guided image was taken on 2007 October 13 at Sky Trails Observatory in Summerland using 8 5-minute exposures at ISO 800 with a Canon 10D DSLR attached to a Borg 101E astrograph operating at f/4.2. The sub images were combined with dark frames in ImagesPlus.
