05 Planetary M57 Ring
Capturing the Ringbr/ M57, the Ring Nebula, is located in the constellation of Lyra. This planetary nebula was created by a dying star that is now a white dwarf visible in the ring's centre. Some day, our sun may experience a similar fate. As a child, I was always fascinated by pictures of the Ring Nebula. As an adult, when I purchased my first sturdy telescope in 2007, this was one of the first objects for me to image.br/ Acquisition Details: This image was captured in 2009 with my 12quot; Meade RCX400 and a DSI II Colour Web Camera. I had no guiding equipment at the time, so I stacked 10 second exposures until I had adequate colour and detail. This image was published in Sky News magazine later that year.
