09_Aurora_1 Canon 60Da 11-14mm at 11mm f/4.5 3.2s ISO 2000br/ 20160508 08:46 UT. Edmonton, Alberta. Ah, the last G3 storm over the Edmonton region that had a clear sky. I was too tired to go chasing just a possibility, but after 11:30 pm the sky opened up. I was shooting a 3.2s exposure every 5s to turn it into a time-lapse. With this sort of event, experience tells you that no matter where you point you will get good stuff, and you will miss good stuff. And as is typical, the peak super-activity last only 5 minutes, then it settles down to merely wonderful. Up at the top nicely framed is the iconic Big Dipper.
