The most anticipated event of 2020, the once in a lifetime close conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn is captured in this image. 5 Saturnian moons and 4 Jovian moons are pictured. Saturn’s rings are distinct and the Great Red Spot along with cloud belts can also be seen on Jupiter’s surface.
This image is a composite of 4 separate images taken with a Canon 6D mounted at prime focus on an 8 inch SCT with a ZWO ADC. Exposures ranged from ISO 800 - 3200 to capture the moons and surface details for both planets. The images were combined and processed in Photoshop to produce the final picture.
