Saturn next to Messier 4 and bright & dark nebulae
In this 24ordm; x 16ordm; field centered on the northern half of Scorpius, the two brightest objects are Saturn (middle top) and Antares (middle bottom). To the upper right of Antares is thebr/ globular cluster M4. Around Antares is the reddish Antares nebula and above Antares, surrounding the star rho Ophiuchi, is the bluish nebula IC 4604. One can also see several tendrils of dark nebulae. The 3-minute exposure was tracked (but not guided) using the MusicBoxEQ mechanically driven mount on a tripod. The low latitude of 24ordm; contributed to the clarity of the sky in this region, which was 30ordm; up from the horizon.br/ br/ Location: Scout Key, Florida, USA Date amp; Time: 2015-02-20 ndash; 4:44 AM ESTbr/ Camera: Canon EOS REBEL SL1 on MusicBox EQ ISO: 400br/ Lens: 50 mm f/1.8 II Aperture amp; Exposure: f/2.2, 178 s
