12. The Horsehead
Imaged March 3, 2017. I had accidentally captured the Horsehead earlier that winter while taking a pretty grainy shot of the Flame Nebula. I wanted to take a better image of the Horsehead while I could still see Orion from my perch at the cabin, so I took advantage of the rare clear skies on May 3 and drove out. This is a 2-hour total exposure (mostly 5-minute subs) using the Tak with focal reduction, and the Mallincam Universe.br/It was this shot that made me believe I could be a real astrophotographer.
