5. M27

M27, the Dumbbell Nebula, a planetary nebula 3500 light-years away in the constellation Vulpecula. Imaged early in the morning of September 29, 2017. Eighteen subs totalling about 1.5 hours. I put the 1.6x focal extender on the Tak for this image, as well as using a Uv/Ir cut filter.br/Before I got into CCD imaging, I used a Mallincam VSS+ for videoimaging. This was the first deep-sky object that I looked at. I tilted the monitor so my wife could see it through the window of our cabin. Her jaw dropped.
