NGC7023 aka The Iris_Nebula

The Iris nebula is an open star cluster associated with a reflection nebula. 1300 light years, or 7,000,000,000,000,000 miles away. The bright star in the middle HD 200775 is 10 times the size of our sun. A young star, it's nuclear furnace recently lit, is blowing away the dust and gas from which it was born. Complex hydrocarbons, PAH's have been detected by infrared observations -- maybe an indication of life? http://legacy.spitzer.caltech.edu/.../arti.../20050627.shtmlbr/Imaging telescope / lens: Celestron Cassegrain 203/2032 mm EdgeHD8br/ Imaging camera: ZWO Optical ASI 1600 MM Pro (CMOS)br/ Mountbr/ Equatorial Losmandy GM811Gbr/ Guiding telescope / lensbr/ Celestron Cassegrain 203/2032 mm EdgeHD8br/ Guiding camerabr/ ZWO Optical ASI 178 MC (CMOS)br/ Accessoriesbr/ Focal reducer Celestron 0.7br/ Lights (filter Red)19 x 300 secbr/ Lights (filter Green)20 x 300 secbr/ Lights (filter Blue)20 x 300 secbr/ Total lights integration time 4:55 hoursbr/ Processed withbr/ PixInsight (Pleiades Astrophoto) 73.0.3683.10
