07 Star Trails

Moshi, Tanzania br/2019-01-27 8:30pm to 10:07pm br/Sony A7RII with Sigma Art 14mm prime lens f/2.4, 10sec, ISO1000 497 * 10 sec exposures. Total integration of 82 minutes br/Star trails close to the equator move parallel to each other as opposed to arcs or circles in northern or southern hemispheres. As Moshi is at 3.3430 degrees south of the equator, this was the perfect location to test the star trails. As long as the camera is facing due west (or east) the star trails will appear as straight lines. Since the poles are on the horizon, the equator rises vertically at the east point and sets vertically at the west point. I was so happy when I stacked the 497 images and it produced vertical lines.
