Messier 67

Messier 67

Messier 67 is an open cluster in the constellation Cancer. Its estimated age is somewhere between 3.2 and 5 billion years, and its estimated distance is 2600 - 2900 ly from earth.
Estimates of the total stars in this cluster vary, but it's believed to be over 500. I'ts interesting to note that it has over 100 stars similar to the sun, and some theorize that it could be the parent cluster of the Sun.
This image is comprised of 23x 15s sub exposures, for a total of 5.75 minutes of integration. It was taken the night of November 14th, 2022 using a ZWO ASI533MC Pro through an 8" Celestron EdgeHD at F7 atop a Celestron CGEM-DX.
This image was taken from my backyard observatory, just outside of the the village of White Lake, Ontario.
