Dumbbell Planetary Nebula

Dumbbell Planetary Nebula

I found the Dumbbell Nebula to provide a great introduction to photographing planetary nebulae. It is bright, reasonably large, and colourful. Much to my delight, it even shows up in short exposures, making it relatively easy to frame the image. After months of frustration trying to teach myself the basics of photographing deep sky objects, it gave me a much-needed boost.
