The Eastern Veil Nebula (NGC 6992_6995)

The Eastern Veil Nebula (NGC 6992_6995)

strongThe Eastern Veil Nebula (NGC 6992/6995)/strongbr/The Eastern Veil from my backyard in London ON. I have always thought that this supernova remnant looked really interesting - like a Joker face which is why it is one that I really wanted to image. I love the blue and red strands that intermingle in this nebula - it makes the structure look very delicate with no wonder why itrsquo;s described as a veil. This image is a stack of 127 x 120s subs (4h 14 min total) gathered using a Skywatcher Evostar 72ed with 1.0 field flattener on a Star Adventurer 2i mount with a Canon t6i (stock) DSLR camera at iso 1600. The equipment was guided using a ZWO 30mm f/4 guidescope with asi120mm mini guide cam. Camera was controlled with NINA, and guiding with phd2. Individual subs were stacked in Deep Sky Stacker and the final image was stretched and processed in PixInsight.
