12 Dark Nebula LDN 1235 Shark

Just When You Thought It Was Safe...br/ LDN 1235 is a dark nebula located in the constellation Cepheus. This extremely faint object, which resembles a shark, contains two small blue reflection nebulae: vdB149 and vdB150. Imaging this area was a real challenge! When I examined the first 3 minute sub, I could not detect any nebulosity. At that point in time, I almost gave up, but decided to persevere in the hopes that the final stacked image would show something. I'm glad I kept going. In the end, I kept 14 1/2 hours of only the best frames for integration. br/ Acquisition Details: Esprit 100ED, EQ6-R Pro, ASI2600MC Pro, ASI120MM (Guide camera), ASIAIR-Plus, ZWO EAF, Astronomik UV-IR Block L-3 filter, 180 second subs at Gain 100. Integration Time: 14.5 hours
