Such a crowded starry area of the sky, so much that I really don’t see a rose in the image. Visually, it apparently reveals itself from curved lines of stars around darkness forming rose petals, but I’ve never visually viewed this target. Nevertheless, my interest in this object mostly came from the common name, Caroline’s Rose. While researching this as a target, I learned that this was discovered by a Caroline, and then recalled reading an article about the discoverer many years ago. That sent me down a rabbit hole of research on Caroline Herschel and I soon became very appreciative of her accomplishments and contributions to our hobby. I think it may be time to visually view this target to finally see the rose that she saw.
