No amount of preparation seemed to help when we woke up to -30 windchill to view the transit of Mercury in progress at sunrise. All the planning to capture a time-lapse just didn't work with frozen equipment and body parts. Regardless it was a successful event that started with a huge sun pillar appearing to signify the start the show.
