Movement of minor planet 433 Eros Part 2

Minor planet 433 Eros made a rare close pass of Earth in early 2012, allowing its motion against the background stars to be observed over a short time period. On the flyby night, the motion was over 1 degree per day. Two images were exposed about 4 hours apart centered on the constellation Sextans. The separation of the two bright stars is about 2 degrees. I happened to be in Barbados on vacation, which made for very pleasant observing conditions. These observations were submitted to an international effort to triangulate the object and thus refine the orbit.br/ br/ Location: Barbados Date amp; Time: 2012-01-28 (02:54, 07:06 UT)br/ Camera: Canon EOS REBEL XSi on tripod ISO: 800br/ Lens: EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM @ 85 mm Aperture amp; Exposure: f/5.6, 30 s
