After a night of observing the Geminids meteor shower in the pristine clear skies of southern Arizona, I noticed in the predawn sky that Venus was rising. The Zodiacal Light began to emerge and then Mercury appeared over the distant mountain range. I had been looking mostly south and west up until this point, so I turned my camera to the east. As I triggered the shutter, a final Geminid Meteor left its mark.
