Zodiacal Light Milky Way Orion Triangle

Zodiacal Light Milky Way Orion Triangle

ISO 6400, 14mm, f/2.8, 30 secondsbr/ Canon 6D (modified)br/ Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 Lensbr/ Star Adventurer Tracker, 0.5x siderealbr/ Location: Camp Billy Joe (Okie-Tex Star Party), Kenton, OKbr/ Captured October 4, 2021br/ This was a rough first night in Okie Tex. Temperatures went into the low 40s - upper 30s and I neglected to have a blanket with me. So I was rather cold and had trouble falling asleep. I get up to go use the bathroom and when I get outside, I look up to see this - Orion higher in the sky than I'm used to seeing at home, the Milky Way fully visible down to the southeastern horizon, and the zodiacal light shining up to make an 'x' with the Milky Way. Despite my coldness and fatigue, I knew I had to go get that shot!! This was easily the most memorable moment of being at the Okie Tex Star Party. Most of what you see in this photo was naked eye visible. With the modded camera I got Ha nebulosity out of the Milky Way and Orion but everything else... visible! Not something you see every day.
