Aurora on the Horizon

Aurora on the Horizon

Christmas Star.jpgbr/I did do some fanciful framing of Jupiter and Saturn over a tree by a lake in December of 2021. I used a Sony A6000, shot 4 seconds, f/2.8, 17mm (Tamron 17-35 f/2.8-f/4.0 lens), ISO 100. This was one of the images I got of the lsquo;Christmas Starrsquo;.br/ br/Jupiter and Saturn.jpgbr/I also am sending my close up shot of it with a Canon 6D and a Celestron 11in telescope, shooting right at Jupiter and Saturn. This was the day right before closest pass of the two planets. The next day, it was cloudy in Michigan and I could not get another shot on the pair.br/ br/Boatlaunch-2.jpgbr/This is a Milky Way shot over the lake with those two planets in towhellip; ISO 1600, 30 seconds, f/2.8, 17mm. I used a Star Adventurer tracker at half sidereal to capture both the Milky Way and the foreground.br/ br/And for good measure, I found this, Moon with Earthshine:br/ br/LakeHudson2018.jpgbr/Canon 30D, 18-55mm kit lens, f/9.5, 8 seconds, shot on tripod. I think Irsquo;ll revisit this shot again soon, since I took it with my very first DSLR in 2018. I retouched the photo recently to make it a little smoother, taking out some of the noise that I had in the original photo.
