Cr 89 LDN 1565 andIC 444

Colinder 89 along with The Jellyfish Nebula, or IC 443br/ There is more to this than meets the eye. It is located in a region of space known as the quot;Galactic anticenterquot; -- the title that should only be said with an Earl Jones voice within a large echo chamber. This anticenter is located in the opposite direction of the center of the milky way. It is a supershell within our galaxy, and was only discovered in 1970. It has had many changing classifications. In 1972 it was classified as a quot;spiral arm of the milky wayquot;, in 1975 a quot;tidally-stripped dwarf galaxyquot;, and in 1979 a quot;high-velocity cloudquot;.br/ It is near another thing with an interesting name, the quot;Zone of Avoidancequot;. This term should only be voiced by English speaking apes, followed by quot; You may not like what you findquot;. This zone corresponds to the galactic plane which is full of interstellar dust and stars that obstruct visible wavelengths of light. Radio light is not blocked though, so Arecibo should be able to see the area well -- too soon?br/Imaging telescope / lensbr/ William Optics Apochromatic 81/478 mm gt81br/ Imaging camerabr/ ZWO Optical ASI 1600 MM Pro (CMOS)br/ Mountbr/ Equatorial Losmandy GM811Gbr/ Guiding telescope / lensbr/ Astromania Refractor 60/240 mm Astromania 60br/ Guiding camerabr/ ZWO Optical ASI 178 MC (CMOS)br/ Filtersbr/ Baader Planetarium H-alpha (Narrowband Hydrogen Alpha) 2.00quot;br/ Baader Planetarium H-beta (Narrowband Hydrogen Beta) 2.00quot;br/ Baader Planetarium OIII (Narrowband Oxygen 3) 2.00quot;br/ Baader Planetarium SII (Narrowband Sulfur 2) 2.00quot;br/ Accessoriesbr/ Focal reducer Wiliams Optical 0.8br/ Processed withbr/ PixInsight (Pleiades Astrophoto) 73.0.3683.10br/ Lights (filter H-alpha)20br/ Lights (filter H-beta)14br/ Lights (filter OIII)17br/ Lights (filter SII)14
