The Lagoon and Trifid Emission Nebulae

The Lagoon and Trifid Emission Nebulae

This area, in the constellation, Sagittarius, is close to the direction of the heart of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is therefore full of dust clouds and star clusters including the open star cluster in the Lagoon nebula (on the right) and Messier 21 (below and to the left of the Trifid Nebula), along with at least three other minor ones in this crowded field of view.
