04 - Perseid meteor
Ross Lake – Haliburton
The Perseids are meteors, shooting stars, that are seen around Aug. 11 or 12th each year and are due to the Earth travelling through the debris from the tail of comet Swift-Tuttle. I wanted to enjoy the Perseid meteor shower and at the same time try for an image with a meteor. So I pointed my camera to the area I thought would be most likely to give me a meteor and set up my intervalometer to take sequential images with 1 sec between them. I took images for over an hour and was lucky enough to capture this bright and long meteor.
