The Helix Nebula (NGC 7293) – planetary nebula
One of the largest planetary nebulae in the sky and roughly 650 light years from earth. I’m very pleased with this image because it’s one of my earlier images and I was trying to stretch my wide field refractor (360mm) to test it’s limits. Although cropped significantly, I was surprised to get such a fair amount of detail out of it, especially since my post processing skills were not where they are now.
