60 60-second raw photos and 20 darks ISO 1600
Canon T1i, 8″ Sky-Watcher Newtonian Astrograph, CGEM mount, Tele Vue coma corrector, Sky-Watcher 80-mm ED and Orion Starshooter with PhD for guiding.
Each photo is stacked and processed initially in Images Plus. Stretched in IP Digital Development. Colour balanced and background neutralized. Cropped.
This is another relatively easy-to-find DSO for novice binocular users so I include this photo in my flat-screen planetarium show and list of objects to find in my Ace Amateur Astronomer program. I like to display this photo because it contains the cluster NGC 2185, which I can explain to people is actually larger than M35 but appears smaller as it is much further away from the Earth. This helps people realize that the night sky is full of deep-sky objects worth finding.
