The lunar eclipse and the Milky Way May 15th 2022
This was a long planned composition that was shot in between the rapidly approaching clouds. We set up on the at Beveridge Locks along the rideau canal near the town of Rideau Ferry. It is nearly impossible to capture the Milky way and a full moon together unless it is during a total lunar eclipse and even then I knew I had to leave the city to capture this combination. We actually drove through a massive thunder storm to get there. It was dodgy weather for certain.,
Shot on a static tripod with a Nikon D750 Astro-modified with an H alpha Filter and the Rokinon f/1.8 20 mm lens at F/2.8 ISO 1600. 10x 13s exposures stacked.
