This was shot hand-held... it was the night before surgery, I was out with the dog and thought the clouds looked cool. So I went back and grabbed the camera but left the heavy tripod behind. It was three days later as I lay on the couch recuperating that I started seeing news reports of these quot;noctilucent cloudsquot; and realized I had photos!!
