07 Open Cluster NGC 6611 Eagle

The Eagle has Landedbr/ NGC 6611 is an Open Cluster of stars within the vicinity of the iconic Pillars of Creation, located within M16 (The Eagle Nebula) which is located within the constellation Serpens. Anxious to test my new telescope and mount, I chose M16 as my next image. In retrospect, this ended up being more challenging than I had anticipated as M16 is relatively low in the sky from our northern latitude. Additionally, I had some tracking issues that I had to troubleshoot while capturing this target. In the end, I had 12 hours of clean data to stack into a final image. I was pleasantly surprised when this image won the ZWO Camera ASI Image of the Week contest.br/ Acquisition Details: Equipment: Esprit 150ED, ASIAIR, ASI2600MM, EQ8-Rh Pro, Astronomik 6nm SHO filters, 300 second subs at Gain 100.
